NEWS & NOTES
The following is a schedule of events for The United Way of Auglaize
County's Campaign Kick-Off, also known as "A Day of Caring":
- Saturday, September 13 - Auglaize County Council on Aging, Auglaize County Visiting Nurses, Mercy
Unlimited, SOURCES, and the Agape Food Pantry will assemble food boxes to be
delivered to the elderly. Non perishable food items are needed and can be
dropped off at the United Way office or the Council on Aging.
- Sunday, September 14 -
The Auglaize County Crisis Center will be setting out barrels in local
grocery stores to collect items for residents of the Crisis Center and those
relocating to their new home. Non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies,
and personal hygiene products can be dropped off at Kmart, Big Bear, and
Chief.
- Big Brothers/Big Sisters will match volunteers with children from their
program for a Nature Walk and Scavenger Hunt along the canal in St. Marys.
Volunteers are needed.
These events start the annual fund drive. This year's goal is $375,000.
The money goes toward the following agencies, which helped over 15,000
Auglaize residents last year alone:

- Auglaize County Crippled Children & Adults
- Auglaize County Mental Health Assn.
- Auglaize County Visiting Nurses Assn.

- Children's Developmental Center of Lima
- College Community Arts Council
- Family Resource Center
- Girl Scouts of Appleseed Ridge
- St. Marys Ministerial Assn.
- Hospice
- Lima Arthritis Foundation
- Mercy Unlimited
- Midwest Ohio Riding Center
- Northwest Ohio Conductive Education
- Blodd Drive
