My gripe is concerning the greatly increasing traffic in West Oaks.Particularly off Kishler to Oakview. Cars go by with their drivers absorbed in the Boom,Boom Boom of the car radios that if they actually hit someone, like one of our children, or a senior, out walking, there's no way they would even hear it anyway. While they are deafening our ears, but sharpening our eyes (to look out for them), they are deafening there own ears permanently. We will have a generation of deaf people. We, and I speak for quite a few, wish the cars would slow down or go away, and the kids would wise up and turn the "music" down. Thanks for allowing me to vent.

Dear Ridertown: My name is Larry Rasche'. I live in Roswell,Ga.,near Atlanta. my wife Kendra and I just returned from SummerFest 2000. I wanted to congratulate the city and all who worked on SummerFest in making it a success in every way. Kendra and I enjoyed it so much, seeing many of our classmates from the classes of 1966 and 67', seeing the great parade, seeing the mayor, who was my best friend, classmate, and fellow Rider footballer with me in the late 60's, you had it all, and we enjoyed it all! Great job! Keep em coming. Please put me on your e-mail directory at "arasche@bellsouth.net".

Dear Ridertown: I just heard someone I know from St. Marys, (name withheld), died of a cocaine and morphine overdose. I'm sure there will be more to come. There is a ratio of hard core drug use in St. Marys that is astounding. I moved away from St. Marys because I became caught up in that action. Now, as I am living near Cincinnati, I see a lot of drug activity because of the size of this area, but there is a true problem in St. Marys. Everyone better open up their eyes because I saw a lot of people I know graduate from alcohol to weed to acid to coke and beyond. ridertown.com boasts a lot of the positivity of living in St. Marys, and there is a lot of good things about the town, but when St. Marys is seen through the eyes of an insider like myself who moved away, stepped back and viewed the town in its entirety from a distance, a light is shone which shows a sad, sad tale of addictions running rampant and controlling an otherwise peaceful town.

Dear Ridertown: Great Website. I thoroughly am enjoying it and keeping track of all the old and new things happening in St. Marys. As a 1969 graduate of Memorial High School and still having a brother living in St. Marys, it is fun to read about all the current happenings in town. I also gave this website to my other brothers who no longer live in town. Keep up the great and fun things on the internet and am sending greetings from
Tucson, Arizona. 105 degrees, but its a DRY heat!!!!!!!! Whew.
