Rider J.V.'s Finish Season 19-1

ST. MARYS -- The Rider J.V. baseball team finished the 2000 season with a 19-1 record as they defeated Wapak twice in a double header Saturday.

In the first game, the Riders won 4-3 as Jake Meinerding doubled in the tying run and Dan Zink singled in Meinerding for the win, all in the bottom of the sixth.

Dan Zink picked up the victory pitching a complete game.

In the second game, the Riders found themselves down 5-0 after the first inning. But they battled back, winning on an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth.

Mark Bergman started on the mound and was relieved by Matt Steinke in the first inning. Matt Mallory came in the eighth inning and picked up
the win.

The J.V.'s are made up of nine sophomores and 2 freshman. They are
coached by Shawn McGee and Fred Hullinger.
