The Trustees of the Foundation approved $64,750 in student education loans and $28,500 in scholarship grants. Checks were presented to students at the Foundation's annual meeting. The students will use the money to help with the costs of continuing their educations.

"The St. Marys Community Foundation got started in 1974," Trustee Ed Noble explained. "I think we started with something like $7,000. Now we have over two and a half million dollars."

"Since the begining the foundation has awarded $600,000 to $700,000 to charitable endeavors," Noble said.

Foundation members Larry Shelby, Mary Anne Sheaks and Foundation Administrator Darwin Zeigler Auglaize County Prosecutor Ed Pierce assisted Noble in distributing the grant scholarships and deferred-interest loans.

Most of the students were presented their loan checks at the Foundation's Annual Meeting Monday. The following grants were awarded:
