The St. Marys Band program is recruiting additional members for the Memorial High School Band Hall of Fame, which honors band alumni who have performed in a college, military, or
community band or orchestra after graduating from high school. The members of the MHS Band Hall of Fame serve as outstanding role models for the current band students in the
philosophy of the St. Marys Band program that "Music is for a Lifetime."
The 2003 inductees to the Hall of Fame will be honored at the annual Pops Concert on Sunday, May 18, at 2 PM in the MHS Performing Arts Center. At the concert, inductees will be presented with a certificate signifying membership in the Hall
of Fame, and names of the 2003 inductees will be added to the ranks of the 68 other Hall of Fame members on the permanent plaque hanging in the rear of the Performing Arts Center.
In order to process the certificates and have the engraving completed on the permanent plaque, the following materials need to be received no later than May 5, 2003. Please send these
to the attention of Mr. Newlove at Memorial High School:
- Name (as you would like it listed on the certificate and plaque);
- Year of graduation from MHS; and,
- the name of the college, community ensemble, or military group that you performed in.
Also, a copy (no originals please) of a program from college, community or the military that has your name in it should also be sent as verification of eligibility for the Hall of Fame. If no
program exists, a picture, letter from a director, or some other verification is all that is needed.
Please contact Mr. Newlove at the High School Band Room (419-394-5119) with any questions.
