Robin Elston will speak during an August 19 event sponsored by the Van Wert Chamber of Commerce. A training program called “Improving Productivity in Uncertain Times” will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. August 19 at the Willow Bend Country Club, 579 Hospital Dr., Van Wert. According to a press release, the program is for CEO’s, directors, supervisors and HR and financial managers who want to increase the productivity of their organization and the dedication of their employees.
The program covers four topics taught by Robin Elston of Celina, who has 16 years experience in manufacturing management and human resource management in Fortune 500 companies. She has conducted many training sessions for Fortune 500 Companies, smaller companies, and not-for-profit organizations. She has degrees in both chemical engineering and administration.
According to Elston, “If experts agree on anything, it’s that the American economy is changing and Northwest Ohio is no exception. The effects of change ripple through an organization. The behavior of leadership determines whether the change impacts productivity positively or negatively. To lead effectively in these chaotic times, you need to possess the skills necessary to create a clear plan for the future AND build commitment in your people to follow the plan. This seminar teaches participants the process people go through as they become truly committed to your organization’s plans. This course will equip leaders with the skills to lead their organization to better financial results through improved productivity.”
The seminar consists of four one-hour parts. The first part of the program, “Essential Leadership Skills in Uncertain Times,” teaches the unique skills essential when leading in times of rapid change.
The second part of the program teaches leaders how to build commitment throughout their organization. This section will show you how to build true accountability in your employees by building true commitment to the organization’s plan to greatly increase the productivity of the organization.
Next the program will cover “Bridging Accountability Across the Generation Gap.” Robin will explain why it seems that many younger workers don’t have the dedication their older managers expect. After this section leaders will understand the values that motivate each generation and how to increase the dedication of workers of all ages in your organization.
The program will conclude with a section on “Recognizing Progress Along the Leadership Marathon.” In this segment leaders will learn to recognize progress so to give them the energy necessary to run in the leadership marathon long enough to reap unprecedented productivity improvement.
Cost for the program is $100 per person and includes lunch. For more information or to register call the Van Wert Chamber of Commerce at 419-238-4390. Registration deadline is August 14th.
