Local agriculture experts and members of the Japanese Economic Delegation welcomed Japan’s Honda Trading Company officials Mr. Sadao Nara and Mr. Kiyo Yamada to Celina on Thursday, July 17. Their visit was prompted by the delegation's visit to Tokyo last August. The officials were joined by Mr. Joe Hanusik, Plant Manager for HAPI-O, Harmony Agricultural Products in Ohio, that is owned and operated by Honda Motor Company, Marysville, Ohio.
The group is exploring new opportunities in the production and processing of soybean products as well as other new advancements in food products. The focus of the trade mission to Japan has been on developing new niches in agriculture products and the automotive parts industry. This visit represents the second visit by Japanese officials since the delegation’s trade mission to Japan last August.
