MHS Releases Back-to-School Information

ST. MARYS -- Plans for issuing Memorial High School class schedules, locker keys, and copies of board fees owed for the 2003-04 school year were announced today by Michael Makley, Principal.

Schedules for sophomores, juniors and seniors may be picked up in the Memorial High School office on Thursday and Friday, August 14 and 15 from 8:30 to 11:30a.m. or 1:00 to 2:30p.m. Schedules and locker keys will be available on or after the above assigned time in the high school office.

The incoming freshmen class and new students to MHS will receive their schedule, locker key, a copy of board fees, and have an orientation program which they may attend on Friday, August 15th. Students with last names A through D report to the 9 a.m. orientation, students with last names E through K report to the 10:30 a.m. orientation, students with last names L through R report to the 1 p.m. orientation, and students with last names S through Z report to the 2:30 p.m. orientation.

All orientation programs will begin in the high school auditorium followed by a tour of the building. Students with athletic practice conflicts should attend a session that doesn’t conflict with their schedule.

High School students new to the St. Marys City School system are asked to register in the guidance office August 11-15 so a class schedule can be prepared. State statute requires new students present a birth certificate at the time of enrollment, social security number, and, if not residing with both parents, legal papers showing guardianship or legal custody with which they are residing.

Students who have had a change of address or phone number from last school year are to notify the office immediately(394-4011). All MHS students will receive a handbook/organizer the first day of school this year. This booklet will contain the student code of conduct and a full year daily planner which the students will be expected to use for class assignments so there is no need to purchase an additional daily planner.
