The Business Enterprise Center (BEC) at the Lake Campus of Wright State University is offering two sessions of the popular Quickbooks 2002 software program.
QuickBooks 2002 will be offered Tuesday through Thursday, September 2, 3, and 4, from 6-10 p.m., in Room 194 at the campus. The cost for this session is $90. This workshop will review various means of data entry for accurate record keeping, and participants will learn to set up and use the software. Instruction will include such topics as invoice and statement preparation, inventory tracking, payroll, and financial reporting. Reports from QuickBooks can be easily transferred to Excel spreadsheets. Lake Campus Associate Professor of Accountancy Ron Kremer, MBA, CPA, is the instructor.
Another QuickBooks workshop also taught by Kremer will be offered in December - on Monday, December 1, Tuesday, December 2, and Wednesday, December 3. Participants completing one of these 12-hour workshops will receive a certificate.
Instructor Kremer says of the seminars: “We have been offering this user-friendly software training for quite sometime. Each time it are offered, the training is very successful. We have trainees from all forms of small business - from hairdressers and retail and flower shops to automotive businesses, even little leagues and churches. They take these courses and come away extremely satisfied. They all say how easy, how user-friendly the software is.”
Kremer has been teaching accounting courses and other business classes at the Lake Campus for 26 years - at the associate, bachelor, and master’s of business administration levels - and has conducted numerous seminars on Lotus electronic spreadsheets, Excel spreadsheets and QuickBooks and Peachtree Accounting. Kremer holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA in accounting. He received CPA certification in 1971. Kremer’s work background includes auditing for an international public accounting firm and private business accounting and tax work for Scripps-Howard Newspaper. He has also been doing income taxes for area residents for 31 years.
