The Business Enterprise Center (BEC) at the Lake Campus of Wright State University is offering two sessions in Supervision in October.
"Introduction to Supervision" will be offered on Wednesday, October 1 and Wednesday, October 8, from 6-9 p.m., in Room 182 at the campus. This course is intended for new and prospective supervisors. Topics include supervisory roles and responsibility, systematic decision making, the supervisor’s role in hiring, employee motivation, and the supervisor’s role in strategic planning.
In the "Intermediate Supervision" two-session course, persons already working in a supervisory role and individuals previously enrolled in the "Introduction" course will be introduced to topics including the supervisor’s role in budget process, positive employee discipline, current legal issues impacting supervisors, employee orientation, training, and performance review, dealing with a diverse workforce, and positively influencing production and quality. This two-session course is scheduled for two Wednesdays, October 15 and October 22, from 6-9 p.m. in Room 182 at the campus.
The Supervision courses are taught by BEC Director Jon Heffner and BEC’s Human Resource Development instructor Julie Miller. Each two-session series costs $90.
