Two New Crown Full Tuition Scholarships Awarded

Crown Equipment Corporation, New Bremen, has awarded two new full tuition scholarships for the 2003-04 academic year. Recipients are Lynn M. Knapke, a graduate of New Bremen High School, and Casey M. McEvoy, a St. Marys Memorial graduate. Crown is awarding a full tuition scholarship to a 2003 graduate of New Bremen High School as well as a full tuition scholarship to a 2003 graduate from a high school in either Auglaize, Darke, Mercer, or Shelby County.

Knapke, the daughter of Doug and Doris Knapke of New Bremen, is majoring in early childhood education at the Lake Campus. She works as co-manager at Putters Lane in Minster and is active as a religious education teacher at Holy Redeemer Church in New Bremen. She is also active with the Granada mission commission for her church.

Casey is the daughter of Patrick and Joni McEvoy of St. Marys. She is pursing an associate’s degree in financial management and a bachelor of science in organizational leadership. Casey works as a receptionist and transcribes dictation in the chiropractic office of Dr. David Geise and is active in the Business Professionals of America at the Lake Campus where she holds the office of special projects coordinator. Casey has traveled to Japan with the St. Marys Sister Cities organization and held a summer job at Crown’s Ft. Loramie plant building wire harnesses.

Crown’s full tuition scholarships are renewable for up to three years. Receiving renewal scholarships are Heather C. Topp, New Bremen; Tyler J. Poeppelman, New Bremen; and Dustan S. Adkins, Celina.

Topp, a sophomore at the Lake Campus and the daughter of Nancy and Larry Topp, is pursuing a degree in middle childhood education. Heather works as a student employee at the campus in the student services department. She teaches sixth grade religion at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in New Bremen and likes to read and visit with friends.

Tyler Poeppelman is working toward a bachelor’s degree in Business and Administration. The son of Ken and Cindy Poeppelman of New Bremen, Tyler maintains a 3.5 GPA and has been included several times on the dean’s list and also been named to the High Honors dean’s list. In the summer, Tyler helps in the family’s produce stand south of New Bremen. He likes to play guitar and basketball.

Dustan Adkins is pursuing a bachelor of science in mathematics. Adkins, who has carried a 4.0 GPA at the Lake Campus, now attends the Dayton campus where he works as a laboratory assistant for CATs (Computer and Telecommunications Service). The son of Paul and Mary Adkins of Celina, Dustan was a post-secondary student at the campus while enrolled at Celina High School.
