Rotary Sponsors Students
for World Community Workshop
The St. Marys Rotary Club is proud to sponsor the attendance of four Memorial High School students to the World Community Workshop. This workshop, held annually at Defiance College, has the theme this year Jamaica: Out of Many, One People.
The purpose of the World Community Workshop is to bring about a greater awareness and understanding of events in a selected area of the world through exposure to knowledgeable people in the field, discussion with other interested high school students, as well as some young people from other countries.
The World Community Workshop has been held since 1987. The event lasts three days, May 11 to May 13, 2004. The students reside in the dorms and have many interesting presentations and discussions during the time.
Students from Memorial High School attending this years seminar are sophomores Amy Fritz, daughter of David and Susan Fritz; Clinton Hirschfeld, son of Erik and Jana Hirschfeld; Matt Hiskey, son of Robert and DeAnne Hiskey; and Emily Saintignon, daughter of Rick and Michele Saintignon.
