Mr. Cheslock? |
I would like to invite all the Ridertown [Forum] readers to the Student and Faculty Challenge IV, which is this Friday, April 2. The doors open at 6:30pm and tip-off is at 7:00pm. The challenge is a basketball game with a few twists.
Regardless of the action on the floor, the horn will sound when the clock displays four minutes. All basketball action will temporarily be suspended and a quarterly, unique activity will ensue between the two teams. Those activities include dodge ball, nail driving relay, guess the number, and knock out(a basketball game). The winners will receive additional points onto their basketball score. Play will then resume until the end of the quarter.
There are numerous raffle prizes available to be won and of course, plenty food and drink at the concession stand. The funds raised at this event go to Memorial Television and Faculty Book Scholarships. Last year was an unbelievable success as approximately $3000 was raised. We are hoping for a repeat of last year and ask that you come out and be entertained and help these two causes generate funds.
At half time of the challenge, fans will view the third annual Mr. MHS contest. Nine senior boys vie for the coveted title of Mr. MHS. Those nine young men are Ty Widman, Michael Doenges, Nick Pfeffenberger, Nick Fortman, AJ Scarpella, Nathan Long, Brett Slone, Kyle Vossler and Travis Frilling. Three female judges will decide the winner based on a resume, fashion statement, interview question, and an escort speech. One of these contestants will join Stephen Kill and Tom Knous as Mr. MHS.
To date the students have yet to win this titanic struggle. This could be the students’ year. If you haven’t made plans for Friday night, call some friends to join you in watching the challenge. If you have already made plans for Friday night, still call some friends to join you in watching the challenge. The faculty and students would love to see you at McBroom Gymnasium.
Pop at the game: $1
Admission: $3
Seeing Ches in a tuxedo as MC of the Mr. MHS contest: PRICELESS
Thank you,
Doug Spencer
