Christopher Baxter Botkin (b. 1953), that is, I, graduated from St. Marys Memorial High School in 1972. That makes me - let's see - old.

Besides being the owner and webmaster of ridertown.com, I also have a BSCE from Purdue University. I've worked in many fields over the years - as a busboy, surveyor, engineer, woodworker, landlord, newspaper columnist/editor, telecommunications marketer, receiving clerk, purchaser and now as inventory control manager (and webmaster) at Classic Delight, Inc. - but I have always made sure that time with my family came first.

The Mayflower Connection

Rosa Anne Doute (or Doty) was the daughter of Picket Doty (1793-1863) and Rebecca (Soward) Doty (1790-1856), married in 1817.

Picket Doty was the son of David Doty (1742-1824) and Rachel (Pickett) Doty (1758-1819), married in 1776.

David Doty was the son of Daniel Doty (1701-after 1781) and Louisa (unknown) Doty, married c. 1728.

Daniel Doty was one of 12 children of Samuel Doty (1643-1715) and Jane (Harmon) Doty (c. 1661-after 1717), married in 1678.

Samuel Doty was the 4th son of Edward Doty and Faith (Clarke) Doty (c. 1619-1675), married in 1634.

Pilgrim Edward Doty (1598-1655) sailed from England to America in 1620 on the Mayflower as an indentured servant. He became a freeman, married, raised a family and died in Plymouth Colony.

Thanks, Barbara Cornelius, for the Mayflower descendancy.
