SummerFest Committee Announces Entertainment
Preliminary Schedule of Events Released

ST. MARYS -- Look for a solid weekend of entertainment at this year's St. Marys SummerFest, as musical acts reflecting several decades of music will grace the Memorial Park Gazebo stage.

This year's annual SummerFest will be held Aug. 10-13, with most of the activities centered around Memorial Park in downtown St. Marys. As usual SummerFest will be offering good music, food and fun for all ages.

Opening ceremonies are slated for Thursday, Aug. 10, in conjunction with the annual "Supper in the Park." The evening will be capped off by a performance of the Auglaize County Alumni Band in the Gazebo beginning at 7 p.m.

Featured musical acts in the Gazebo get under way Friday, Aug. 11, with the Van-Dells taking the stage from 8 to 10:30 p.m. The Van-Dells feature classic hits from the 50's to the 90's. On Saturday, Aug. 12, the "British Invasion" group known as the Devonshires will entertain from 8 to 10:30 p.m. with a selection of hits from the 60's. National recording artist "The Vogues" will be the featured act on Sunday, Aug. 13, from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

The Entertainment Tent will be rocking all weekend as well, beginning with local favorite "Glory Days" Friday. The local musicians will entertain their army of fans from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and again from 10:30 to midnight. Friday and Saturday, the group "Backseat Driver" will perform in the Entertainment Tent.

Other SummerFest highlights include the annual parade on Saturday, and the Fireworks spectacular on Sunday. Chestnut Street will be lined with a variety of concessions, as well as the main food tents in the park. Carpenter Brothers Rides will be featured all weekend in the Chestnut Street Parking lot.

SummerFest information and various event sign-ups will be updated regularly on the ridertown.com website and in The Spring Street Journal. So check back often.
