Storytime Scheduled for Preschoolers
ST. MARYS -- Storytimes for Preschoolers Scheduled for April. Area preschoolers, ages 3 to 5, are invited to attend a series of four storytimes, held each Wednesday in April at 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the new meeting room of the St. Marys Community Public Library.
Programs last for 30 minutes and include stories, songs, fingerplays, or games, and other possible activities. The half hour presentations are especially designed for children at least 3 years-old, to help instill in them a love of good books by introducing them to the finest in modern children's literature and to aid in reading readiness by helping them to develop a sensitivity to language and intonation, an interest in reading, and the habit of going to the library regularly.
Youth Services Coordinator, Cassie Wilson, encourages parents to register their children as soon as possible to assure a spot for them in the program.
For children with special needs, please call several days in advance so that any special arrangements needed can be made. Parents may register by calling the library at 419-394-7471, or coming to the library at 140 South Chestnut in St. Marys. There is never a charge for these programs; all are welcome.
