Faculty-Student Basketball Game to
Introduce "Mr. MHS"

Reprinted permission of MHS BLUE PRINT

ST. MARYS -- The second annual Faculty-Student basketball challenge will take place on April 5 at 6:30 pm.

The students will be working to avenge last year's defeat at the hands of the elderly wonders. Last year's game was a smashing success as spectators and players had a fun-filled evening and $1,200 was raised for the Faculty Book Scholarship fund and MTV.

This year's challenge looks to be another hit as the teams are gearing up for the game. Like last year's event, the evening will include other contests such as football accuracy throw, three-point shooting, paper airplane making and putter golf.

A new addition to the festivities will be the Mr. MHS contest. In this contest, eleven senior boys will battle for the prestigious title of Mr. MHS.

The contestants are Shawn Hays, Dustin Alexander, Cory Scarpella, Josh Roth, Todd Klosterman, Chase Flinn, Dan Smith, Stephen Kill, Adam Styer, Ryan Stoner and Isaac Chaffins.

The contest will be judged by a three-person panel that includes a community member, a faculty representative and a student council representative.

The contest itself will include four areas. The contestants will have to answer a question to be given to them by the master of ceremonies, Mr. Cheslock. They will be judged in the fashion show portion of the contest, which will include a written description of why their chosen attire reflects their personality. Finally, their escort will deliver a one-minute speech detailing why the guy should be crowned Mr. MHS.

The escort will be chosen based on a sealed bid. Any person wishing to be an escort should submit a sealed bid designating the preferred contestant to Mr. Spencer by 3:05 on April 3. The highest bid will have the honor of escorting the boy and giving the speech.

Thanks, Doug Spencer.
