On Tuesday April 30th, The Roughrider Baseball Team travelled to Kenton for a Western Buckeye League matchup.
The Riders came out on top 12-5 thanks to a couple of towering homeruns to straightaway centerfield off the bats of Matt Steinke and John Pfeffenberger. The Riders amassed twelve hits during the game spread out throughout the lineup.
Shane Snyder picked up the win in his first varsity game by taking a no-hitter into the fourth inning. Snyder ended up going five innings allowing three hits, striking out three, and hitting two batters before turning the game over to Dan Zink.
Defensively, good plays were turned in by Jon Doenges, and Mark Bergman and Mike Mallory who combined for an awesome first inning doubleplay.
The Riders will be at home this Friday in a key WBL contest with Elida. Come out and join the Grill Crew for free hot dogs at KC Geiger Park. Game time is 5 p.m.
