ST. MARYS -- On Monday, June 24th, the Cardinal Chorale will be performing at Holy Rosary
Church in St. Marys, Ohio. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm, and a
free-will offering will be taken.
The Cardinal Chorale, created by director Charles R. Snyder, is a select
group of 40 singers chosen from the 200 members of the All-Ohio Youth Choir.
Included in this select group are two members from St. Marys, Donal Duffy,
son of Charles and Noleen Duffy, currently a student at Capital University
in Columbus; and Amy Brotherton, daughter of Mark and Cathy Brotherton, a
senior at Memorial High School.
In its brief seven-year history under the direction of Snyder, this amazing
group of singers has sung for three Ohio Music Education Association
professional conferences, a summer conference of the Ohio Choral Directors
Association, the rededication of the State house, the inauguration of
Governor Taft, five state vocational education conferences; presented
concerts on four college campuses; and delighted audiences on a 1998 summer
concert tour of England, Wales and France. In the summer of 2000, the
Chorale appeared on the concert series at Lakeside, and traveled to Penn
State University to join former members of The Pennsylvanians in a nostalgic
concert commemorating the 100th anniversary of Fred Waring's birth.
This summer, the Chorale will perform for the rededication of OSU's Lima branch
in honor of governer James A. Rhodes. They will also perform at the
Coshocton Strawberry Festival, and a will take a three-concert tour of Lake
Erie, including, Oak Harbor, Put-in-Bay, and Lakeside.
