Health and Safety Workshop Held
The Grand Lake Area Safety Council (GLASC) recently hosted Safety Day 2002 and a vendor fair at the Lake Campus of Wright State University. Signing in is GLASC steering committee member Jan Tindall with Reynolds & Reynolds, and left to right are Michelle Francisco with the Bureau of Workers Compensation; steering committee member Pam Buschur, Executive Director of the Celina-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce; and committee member Patty Cisco with West Central Ohio Health Care Alliance (WCORHA).
Many vendors were represented, and various workshops presented during the day included Hazard Communication, Ergonomics as a Business Strategy, Workplace Violence, Warehouse Safety, Creative Safety Training, and a presentation on Terrorism in Rural America.
GLASC provides and coordinates information and assistance to industries in the two county Auglaize and Mercer area, sharing environmental, health, and safety compliance information and education for the workplace. Past programs have included topics on post-traumatic stress, eye safety in the workplace, effects of sleep disturbance for the workplace, and Bureau of Workers Compensation rules and regulations.
