Art Show set For New Knoxville

The Old Market Gallery in New Knoxville will be the scene of an art, poetry, and music showing as it presents “Our Town: Art, Poetry, and Music about Life in a Small Community.” The show will feature works by a poet, a musician, and artists including those of new Lake Campus Adjunct Instructor of Art Heidi Steinke.

The show is being held Saturday, October 12, from 6-9 p.m. in the Old Market Gallery located across from the Village Market on Route 29 in New Knoxville. Other artists’ works will also be featured as well as a poetry reading by Shannon Doyne from the University of Dayton and music by Joe Green of Jackson Center.

A Once in a Blue Moon Productions presentation, the show is being held in conjunction with Miss Heidi’s Studio in New Bremen which Steinke, a St. Marys resident, opened in July 2002. She earned her BFA from the University of Cincinnati, and, with a full scholarship, earned an MFA from the University of Notre Dame. An artist for more than 11 years, Miss Heidi is also represented by Wood Street Gallery in Chicago and the Linda Schwartz Gallery in Cincinnati. In addition to displaying her works in galleries and shows, Miss Heidi has also taught painting and drawing at Notre Dame as an adjunct instructor.

Admission for the show is free. For more information, call Miss Heidi at Miss Heidi’s Studio, New Bremen, 419-629-3955. More Once in a Blue Moon presentations will be held in the near future.
