Get Graphic at the Library
ST. MARYS -- Teen Read Week Encourages Teens to Get Graphic @ Your Library.
What are graphic novels? Why would you want to read them? Check them out during Teen Read Week, October 13th through 19th, at St. Marys Community Public Library, where we challenge teens to read for the fun of it.
Cassie Wilson, Youth Services Coordinator says, This is going to be a great week here at the Library. We have some good activities and contests planned, so I hope every teen in the area will check out the programs at the Library during Teen Read Week.
How can teens Get Graphic @ your library? Check the calendar of events below:
Young Adult Advisory Board Meeting, October 14 from 7 to 7:45 PM. Volunteers meet with friends for a snack and to create the library programs and activities that you want.
Get Graphic @ Your Library" After school on Tuesday and Thursday, October 15th and 17th, in the Library meeting room from 3:15 to 4:15 PM. There will be free snacks and games for teens. Graphic novels will be on display so you can see whats new.
Enter teen contests anytime during the week.
Volunteer for Urban Legends Storytelling. Teens who love to tell spooky stories are needed as volunteers for the Urban Legends program for younger kids, which will be held on October 19th. Meet with Cassie Wilson, Youth Services Coordinator, during Teen Read Week or before to volunteer and to rehearse your spooky stories.
Wilson encourages teens to Get Graphic in other ways, too:
Read comics and graphic novels.
Check out careers in graphic arts.
Keep a comic book in your backpack to read while waiting for the bus, an appointment, or for friends to pick you up.
Read whatever you want to read, and do it just for the fun of it.
