Scarecrow Contest Announced
ST. MARYS -- The St. Marys Community Public Library is holding a Scarecrow Contest, and everyone is invited to enter. Your scarecrow must be 24 inches tall, three-dimensional, and free standing. Scarecrows must be created by contestants within the last three months to qualify.
There are eight contestant categories: adult group; childrens group; family; preschool & first grade individual; second to fourth grade individual; fifth to eighth grade individual; ninth to twelfth grade individual; and adult individual 18 years old and older. One winner from each category will be selected, except for the adult individual category which will have three winners.
Bring your scarecrow to the Library and complete an entry form during Library hours from October 27 through November 1. All scarecrows will be on public display at the Library and patrons will vote on their favorites during the week of November 10 to 23. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded on Monday, November 25.
