WSU-LC Prof Presents Program
Colleen Fawcett, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the department of teacher education at the Lake Campus of Wright State University, will present Integrating Home Schooled Children into the Classroom-Current Research at the Chicago area Association for the Education of Young Children (AEYC) annual conference to be held January 31 through February 2 in Chicago.
This statewide conference will attract 6000 attendees, and is designed to help participants expand their knowledge of early childhood and raise the level of quality programming for young children throughout our nation. Dr. Fawcett has completed a yearlong research project on The Effect of Home Schooling Kindergarten Children and will share her findings at the conference.
A frequent presenter for the AEYC, Fawcett has presented on the topic of ADHD at the Midwest AEYC conference in Milwaukee and to the associations Chicago metropolitan conference, in addition to the upcoming conference in Chicago.
Fawcett holds a Ph.D. and a master of science in early childhood education. She is certified in early childhood education and holds certification with the Center for Families and Children in childcare and infant-toddlers and developmentally appropriate practices for preschoolers.
The Association for the Education of Young Children is a membership organization dedicated to supporting professionals who are committed to quality care and education for children from birth to age 8. The association, founded in 1926, values advocacy, diversity, education of the public, equity, networking, professional advancement, and public policy.
