The Rev. Dr. Langston C. Bannister
WSU-LC Sponsors Speaker
Faculty, staff, students, and members of the public listened as the Rev. Dr. Langston C. Bannister, Pastor of Third Baptist Church in Warren, Ohio, commemorated Martin Luther King in a recent service at the Lake Campus of Wright State University.
Bannister said that In his clarion call for freedom and justice, Dr. King urged us to love, prod, and push each other to move out of our separate niches and join together to get beyond Martins dream. We need to assure that brotherhood will be the first order of business in every legislation and that we change not only the laws but the minds and hearts of the people. Let us assume the responsibility to be our brothers keepers.
The Reverend Doctor Bannister attended Christiansburg Institute and Tuskegee University where he received a bachelors degree in education and later a masters degree from California State University. His doctorate was earned from the University of Massachusetts and he received the masters of divinity degree from Winebrenner Theological Seminary.
