February 19 Press Release "On The Edge"

Linda Bruno to Speak

Linda Bruno of Sidney will speak on “Dealing with Difficult People” and “The Key to Conflict Management” for the 3rd annual On The Edge professional development seminar being offered at the Lake Campus of Wright State University on Thursday, March 27. This session has been approved for contact hours for RN’s and LPN’s, and CEUs may be applied for. Contact the chamber at 419-586-2219 for details.

Bruno is the founder of Positive Business Results, a training and consulting firm that focuses on many areas from effective communication and supervisory skills to conflict management and personal development. She will discuss characteristics of the most common types of difficult people and how to identify causes and signs of conflict in the workplace and the critical steps to conflict resolution.

Linda’s experience encompasses more than twenty years of hands-on management experience and highlights a broad range of leadership skills. She has managed such areas of business as purchasing, customer services, and sales, and this diversity has allowed her to develop an exceptional overall view of the corporate environment. Her experience as a national trainer with Dun & Bradstreet has expanded her ability to communicate effectively. She combines humor and real-life experience with her business knowledge as she relates to her audiences in a unique way.

Bruno is a member of Women in Networking, the Sidney/Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, and Toastmasters International.

The day-long seminar, especially developed for the local business and industry community, is being presented by the Celina-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce, the Celina Rotary Club, and the Lake Campus of Wright State University, in cooperation with other area Chambers of Commerce.

From learning how to better understand why customers buy from you and discovering new ways to win over the competition, in addition to Bruno’s presentation, participants will also receive information from seminar experts on technology and communication, legal hiring practices, and assertiveness. Business professionals can gain an edge in creative problem solving and develop new people skills so necessary for success in today's competitive business environment.

The cost for the seminar, which is open to the public, is $50 for the full-day session that includes lunch. Also available are morning or afternoon sessions for just $35 each. Interested persons should contact the Chamber at 419-586-2219 to register today!
