The Western Ohio Educational Foundation (WOEF) recently received a $701 in tips when members of Wright State University’s Lake Campus’s administration, faculty, staff, and students served as guest waiters for a Guest Waiter Charity Night co-sponsored by Bella’s Italian Grille in Celina and the Lake Campus. The money will be placed in the WOEF general trustee’s scholarship fund.

Pictured are Lake Campus employees who served as guest waiters and representatives of Bella’s Italian Grille. Seated, left to right, Brenda Godfrey, Cafeteria/Maintenance; Mary Hart, Academic & Instructional Services; and Julie Miller, GMERCO Executive Director/BEC. Standing are Thomas Knapke, Lake Campus Assistant Dean for Development; Mike McLeland, Bella’s Chef; Julie Fleck, Bella’s owner presenting the check to Gregory Schumm, Lake Campus Associate Dean; and Joe Cavanaugh, Associate Professor of Economics.

The University Chorus of Wright State University Lake Campus under the direction of James Davis provided musical entertainment for the evening.

Bella’s, who offers this opportunity to not for profit organizations, provides the facilities, food preparation, and back up for guest waiters and bartenders provided by the company or organization co-sponsoring the event. All tips are donated to the organization.

Says Knapke, “We want to thank Bella’s Italian Grille for this opportunity to raise money for our scholarship program at the Lake Campus. Thanks to companies, individuals, and organizations like Bella’s, we were able to award more than 156 scholarships for the current academic year at the Lake Campus, totaling $155,402.”
