ST. MARYS, OHIO - Memorial High School varsity boys soccer coach Dave Ring presided over an emotional farewell banquet on Tuesday, November 7, honoring this year's successful soccer team (click "2000 Scores" under Related Links, left).

Speaking extemporaneously, Ring lauded MHS' 12 seniors, some of them the program's first four-year varsity players, with sincere, deserved and sometimes humorous praise. He highlighted the team's achievements on the field (only WBL team to beat O-G, first program win over Celina, undefeated at home) as well their notable record of sportsmanship and scholarship.

The Roughriders 12 departing senior letter-winners are (L-R on the second photo, left):

Geoff Lee (Goal); Andy Zink (All-State Academic, 1st Team WBL, Special Mention District); Matt Tompary (Honorable Mention WBL); Scott Shriver (4-year Letter, 1st Team WBL, 2nd Team District); Gabe McKee (4-year Letter, All-State Academic, Unanimous 1st Team WBL, 1st Team District, Honorable Mention State); Aaron Brotherton; Chad Neusmeyer (4-year Letter); Tyler Hirschfeld, Eli McPheron; Nando Ibershoff; Diego Begarra. Unable to attend: Greg Anderson.
