New Scholarships for 2001Announced
The St. Marys Community Foundation, through the generosity of local citizens, has added several new scholarships to its 2001 scholarship program. People considering a career in nursing are encouraged to check out the new Medic Search scholarships from the St. Marys Community Foundation. This scholarship is directed towards people interested in nursing who plan to return to Auglaize County to work.
The St. Marys Optimist Club has established the Lendsay Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship that has been established to encourage community involvement in service clubs and other organizations.
The West School PTO scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who attended West School whose parents participated in the West School PTO.
The new James J. and Grace I. Young Scholarship will offer 2 scholarships to MHS graduates with priority given to students studying mathematics.
The Sanford family has established the Dianna L Sanford and LaVera Hangen Memorial Scholarships. These scholarships were established to encourage students to work hard to achieve their goals.
The St. Marys Community Foundation will offer over $35,000 in scholarship grants in 2001. In addition, there will be over $65,000 in scholarship loans to help students continue their education beyond graduation from high school.
Applications for loans and grants may be picked up at Memorial High School, the office of Noble, Montague and Moul at 146 E. Spring St. or request an application at smcf@bright.net. Medic Search applications may also be picked up at JTDM Hospital.
