This is just the 4th year for the Summerfest Bed Races, sponsored by LACO Laundry & Dry Cleaning. We are sticking with the changes from last year to make it easier for companies, organizations and groups to join in the fun! The Bed Races are no longer BYOB!! The Summerfest Committee and sponsor have agreed to supply beds for the race. This way, there is no preparation time needed by the teams. To participate, all you need to do is register and show up on Sunday with a team of 3-5 individuals.

The Bed Race Committee sets up a course on South Street in front of Memorial High School. Racers will be asked to follow the course and participate in some agility activities along the way. These Activities will be kept secret until the day of the race. Racers are encouraged to be dressed alike and/or to take on a theme. A traveling trophy will be awarded to the most original/most spirited team, as determined by the Bed Race Committee. There will be caash prizes awarded as well as a take-home goodie fopr all participants.

The registration fee is just $15. We would also really like to see some challenges between different businesses, civic groups, etc. in town.

The race will be held this year on Sunday, August 12, 2001 mat 3:00 pm in front of Memorial High School. Check-in time will be from 2:15 - 2:45 pm.
