Eileen Dicke, 84, of 14040 Mercer-Auglaize County Line Road, Saint Marys, died 10:42 A.M. Friday, October 25, 2002, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, Saint Marys.
She was born November 26, 1917, in Auglaize County, the daughter of Roland Margaret (Abe) Hollman.
She married Lester Dicke on December 27, 1941; he survives at the residence.
She is survived by one son, Jonny (Correct spelling) and Wanda Dicke of Celina; by five grandchildren, Mrs. Melinda (Jeff) Smith, serving as missionaries in Central Asia; Tim (and Yvonne) Dicke of Beavercreek, Ohio; Ted (and Nicole) Dicke of Celina; Mrs. Missy (Tim) Hirschfield of Dublin, Ohio; Mandy Dicke of Findlay, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Edwin Hollman.
Mrs. Dicke was a 1935 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School; a 1965 graduate of Bowling Green State University.
She retired from the Celina City Schools, where she had been an elementary teacher for many years.
She was a member of Hawthorne Chapter #119, Order of Eastern Star where she was Past Worthy Matron; she was the Grand Representive of Indiana and Ohio; she loved knitting, making lap robes; she was a member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ, Saint Marys, where she had been a Sunday School teacher.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 28, 2002, at the Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, the Reverend Patricia Minnick officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, Saint Marys.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to the Endownment Fund of the Saint Paul's United Church of Christ. An Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held at 8:00 P.M.
