ST. MARYS, OHIO - Doris E. Taylor, 95, formerly of 517 Linden Ave., St. Marys, died at 11:53 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 30, 1907, in West Union, a daughter of James H. and Ida May (Slagle) Mahaffey. On Sept. 2, 1933, she married Landis "Tip" Taylor, who died March 25, 1984.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Princess Bodkin.
She retired as the co-owner/operator of the former Favorite Cab Service in St. Marys.
She was a member of the Wayne Street United Methodist Church in St. Marys, Kishler Women's Relief Corps in St. Marys and the St. Marys and Indian Lake Senior Citizens organizations.
She had been named "resident of the year" at the St. Marys Living Center in 1995-96.
Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Monday, at the Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial is to follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
