ST. MARYS, OHIO - Robert E. "Fuji" Kiefer, 49, of 510 Locust St., St. Marys, died at 9:03 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 5, 1953, in St. Marys, a son of William and June (Chilcoat) Kiefer. On Feb. 23, 1973, he married Patricia E. Overman, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Rich (Nicky) Kiefer of Wapakoneta and David Kiefer and Rodney (Melissa) Kiefer of St. Marys; two daughters, Lisa (Kevin) Kohne and Christy (Mike) Taylor of St. Marys; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; four sisters, Sandy Kiefer of Celina and Connie Meinerding, Nancy Brotherwood and Betty Gilbert, all of St. Marys; a brother, Bill Kiefer of St. Marys; a half sister, Linda Burd of St. Marys, and his father-in-law, Victor Overman of St. Marys.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Janet Kiefer; and a brother, Ricky Kiefer.
Mr. Kiefer was employed as a journeyman moulder in the foundry at the Minster Machine Co. in Minster. In addition to walking, he enjoyed fast automobiles, especially Ford Mustangs.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at the Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys with the Rev. James Nuhfer officiating. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
