Evelyn C. Carmean

ST. MARYS, OHIO - Evelyn C. Carmean, 74, of 14888 Ohio 66 North in St. Marys, died at 9:35 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.

She was born April 30, 1929, in Wapakoneta, to Millard and Hilda (Schweitzer) Koenig, and they preceded her in death.

She married L.G. Carmean on April 10, 1948, and he survives.

Mrs. Carmean is survived by two sons, Terry (Deb) Carmean of St. Marys and Michael (Patricia) Carmean of Toledo; one daughter, Diane (David) Blackburn of Wapakoneta; one brother, Donald (Jackie) Koenig of Lima; three sisters, Marilyn Wallace, Betty (Ronald) Spyker, and Patricia (Robert) Sabo, all of Wapakoneta; one sister-in-law, Sharon Koenig of Wapakoneta; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Christine Woods; one brother, Leroy Koenig; and one sister, Nancy Koenig.

Mrs. Carmean was a 1947 graduate of the St. Joseph High School in Wapakoneta. She was a homemaker and had worked for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in St. Marys. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its Alter Sodality. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 511 E. Spring St. in St. Marys. The Rev. David A. Heinl will officiate. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens, located near Moulton.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home.
