CELINA, OHIO - Clayton "Gene" Burd, 67, of 812 Pro Drive, Apt. 22 in Celina was found dead at his residence on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, of apparent natural causes.
He was born Feb. 4, 1936, in New Bremen to Harry and Genevieve (Colson) Burd. His mother preceded him in death and his father survives in St. Marys.
Mr. Burd is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lisa (Ken) Norman and Mrs. Jenny (Greg) Vantilburg of St. Marys; step-daughter Gwen Market of St. Marys; sister Judy Murphy of Deluth, Ga.; brother Harry (Linda) Burd Jr. of St. Marys; half-brother Scott Burd of St. Marys; cousin Pam Sykes of Mendon; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Burd retired from Avco New Idea Company in Coldwater. He loved fishing.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday [Sept. 19, 2003] at the Miller Funeral Home at 1605 Celina Rd. in St. Marys. Burial will follow at Ellis Cemetery in Montezuma.
Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Friday.
