ST. MARYS, OHIO - Albert W. "Moon" Hammond, 82, of 14186 St. Marys River Road, St. Marys, died at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at the St. Marys Living Center.
He was born July 8, 1921, in St. Marys, a son of Charles and Grace (Goodman) Hammond. He was married to Freida Collins, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons, Albert Hammond, Jr. of Lima, and Christopher Hammond of St. Marys, two grandchildren and a sister, Mary (Lyn) Hemmelgarn of Bellefontaine. He is preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers.
He was retired from the former Fisher Cheese Company in Wapakoneta, where he was a truck driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.
Services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday, at the Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High St., St. Marys.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
