ST. MARYS -- A few local internet pioneers will remember ridertown.com founder Chris Botkin's "Botkinland" Roughrider Football coverage from 1997 and 1998. Teaming with photographer Burton Andrews, for two seasons they sent the heart of St. Marys out into the world in words and pictures. Reaction ranged from disappointment to anger when it proved impossible to continue the service in 1999...
But, good news! Andrews Photography and ridertown.com have entered into an agreement to put MHS Sports back on the World Wide Web. With the cooperation of the St. Marys City Schools, The Spring Street Journal will publish accounts of as many MHS events as possible.
With Journal Editor-In-Chief David Stilwell handling the press-box duties and Burton Andrews on the sidelines, ridertown.com will cover the games with online color pictures and commentary within hours of the contest, and revisit the match later with stats and a complete pictorial.
