KENTON, OHIO -- The Roughrider varsity golf team won the WBL championship for the first time Friday at Kenton's Memorial Country Club.
Second place was as good as first for the St. Marys squad. Defiance squeezed out a slim one-stroke tournament victory, but the Riders' second-place finish clinched the league championship.
The top finishers Friday were Defiance with 318 strokes, St. Marys shooting 319, and Shawnee came in third with a score of 322.
Elida got past Celina and host Kenton in a scorecard playoff.
Ridertown kudos to the team and coaches for this milestone achievement, and may there be many more in years to come.
Good luck to the team in the Sectional Tournament. |
